Default My first Black and White portrait

Here is my first BnW portrait.
I tried to make a sharp and clear BnW portrait.
There are a lot of adjustable settings in editing BnW, so i tried to adjust them so the photo looks as good(natural) as possible

Is the composition good? i wanted to make the image wide so i had to crop it in such a way, is the compostion good after croping?
How do you thing about the up and down black borders? is that a good idea?

BnW
used Lightroom and CS5

The black and white conversion works well, the lightings helps to tone your model, the black border is good (I'm usually do that...LOL)

the only thing that bother, is his awkward posing which emphasize with his bulky jackets., if you look at it, the size of his arms and shoulders are not proportioned with his head. But this is just my observation, maybe some will disagree.
