Default My kids

I'm just figuring out my new camera and have a ton to learn. I like this shot, but I shot in the shade and screwed up the white balance, and then tried to correct the color and contrast in photoshop--not so sure I'm satisfied with the results. Any critique or suggestions on this or any other aspect would be much appreciated.

The only thing I can say is I find the hat to be too busy as it keeps drawing my attention to it rather then the eyes other then that its a great photo and a lovely pair of kids Looks like the boy in the back had fun with his ice cream

Even though the boy in the background is blurred, his expression and ice cream (yum) makes him very prominent in the shot, taking away from the cute girl. I don't know which one to look at.
Also, with a baby this age, a lower camera position would be better since I feel that I am looking down at her.

Now, I will go get some ice cream...

Thanks for the kind words about both the photo and the kids (and the ice cream )

Agreed about the hat--the shadow it casts over her eyes also bugs me.

Good point too about the angle. It's a good reminder that even when I'm crouched on the ground in front of her, my eyes and the camera are still above her. I need to get down even more.
