Default 1st wedding with my new D90

I have been shooting weddings for a while now but 2 things happened that I think will help me a lot. I got a Nikon D90 (I was shooting with a D50) AND I discovered Lightroom.
This is a photo from the 1st wedding I shot with my D90 and I processed it using Lightroom. just wanted to know what you thought. Did I over do the processing, is the composition good? I didn't crop at all on this. The room had a ver yellow tint to it but I thought it worked with this shot.
I really like it and the bride LOVES it but i'd like to know anything I could have done different. I used the noise reduction but then it made the outline around her very visable.

White balance was on auto
f1.8
Shutter speed 1/50 (.02) It was on shutter priority
Nikon SB 700 Flash was used and bounced off the ceiling

Well, if the bride LOVES it I'd give it to her as is. Technically, her outline exaggeration from your processing isn't - er - right, but heck I really like this image. It has somewhat a film effect to it - so you could say that was your intention. I'd clone out the top left circular light/halo and tone down that overexposed section on the mid left. In my humble, amateur opinion I think it's a great shot.

I really like this shot.. something about the moment just takes it all away.
try a B&W version.. I think it can be even better

Yes a great moment I would see what its like as a B&W. Needs a bit burning in bottom left arms are a bit blown away and I would fix the brides bulg over the dress she will not won't to see that.

Yes JH, I also agree with the blown out arms - missed that - but the bride's bulge, she's already seen it and loves the photograph.

I like it Stina, very nice to capture that moment. I would be tempted to crop slightly to remove some of the black from the right side of the image, my eyes kept drifting over there. To more force the focus onto to the couple. Love that you captured the smiles, nicely done.

Agree with Mr Jones, bet a B/W version would look great.
I think it's a little over processed, but above all you have done your job: presenting the bride and groom with a great moment in time.

Default Thanks

I still need to crop out the "orb" on the left top corner but here is the B&W version I came up with. Before I give the bride her photos I'll do that and I'll try the burn tool on her arms though. Thanks

You have captured a great moment, I can see why she loves it! Well done.

Personally I think the b and w version is more blue and black.. so not so keen on that treatment myself, I love true black and whites... You also need to burn or clone out the really blown out patch on the far left...

Hi Stina

Yes just me with the bulge, if you have this as a raw file, without recroping you could just bring in a darker layer, mask it and brush in the area round the arms.
