Default Concert Photography Critique?

So a while ago I asked for a critique on my photo. I think that I've improved a lot since then.

So could you please give me your opinions on this shot. Is the composition and pose good? I'm kind of on the fence as to wether or not the background is distracting.

DSC_5323

Any advice would be awesome
Thanks

it's a nice photo but I don't like the angle that you chose.
I think that taking a step to the left would have given you a more interesting angle which would have given us a look at his guitar. the more I look at it the more I miss the guitar..
regarding the background, why did you shoot at f/5.6? is it a lens issue or did you choose it for a reason?
shooting at a wider aperture will help you get a more burry background and better subject-background separation.
another thing is that mic growing out the back of his neck.. I admit I didn't notice it at first but now it just feel awkward.

btw, please add your EXIF data to your post, it will help people critique your photo.

I agree with Mr Jones. Also your wardrobe assistant needs replacing - the guys pants are falling down

Sorry, couldn't help it.

I agree there's a lot of distracting elements in this picture.

Its not a bad shot by any means, but the angle + distracting elements stops it being a really good shot.

With musicians I always think it helps to get low and almost angle the shot upwards so you get a good shot of the guitar / instrument, and also it removes some of the distarcting elements from the background.

Here's pic I took a while ago, its indoors so not exactly the same, but hopefully it'll show the kind of angles I mean (I know it's not an amazing shot before anyone rips it to shreds lol... just using it as an example)
