Default Friend's New Baby..

This is my first infant portrait...any changes I should make?

try bumping up the contrast way up.. it feels more like a gray picture rather than a B&W picture.
another thing that bothers me is the crop, you've chopped of his hand.. not so flattering on a baby.

A lovely pic but i'd second the points made above. Definately more grey than B&W and the hand crop isn't ideal.

But I do really like the pic and think its a really lovely capture from an interesting angle

Thank you!! I didn't like what a bump in contrast did to his face but I upped the blacks a bit and made the vignette stronger this is actually another shot because the previous comp wasn't cropped I was just that close and in that tight. better?

I think the background is distracting in this version tbh as it's too blown out and bright, but the crop / composition is definately better.

If you want to make the skin tone less grey without using a contrast adjustment then your best best is to use the "dodge" tool to lighten the skin tones.
