Question What do you think?

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all well and enjoying capturing life's happy moments. I took out this photo and would like some feedback on this photo. Is it sharp enough? What could I have done differently for a better photo, etc. Are my settings correct? Any advice on this photo will be highly appreciated. I'm still learning.

The Exif:

Shutter Speed : 1/200 sec
Aperture : F/5
Flash : Yes
Focal : 28mm (used the kit lens)
Exposure : 1/200 sec
Iso : 200

Great shot and yes its definately sharp enough!

The focus on her eyes is perfect and it really is an excellent shot!

Maybe the lower half of her face is less exposed than the top a little (I take it you used a flash?), so i'd use the dodge tool on the lower half a little bit to make it a more consistant skin tone.

Apart from that though I think its an excellent shot!

I agree with ajax-andy about the balance of light on her face. She is very pretty and has amazing eyes. All in all a great shot!

I would try to get her to hold her head up slightly as that may help with the darker area in the lower part of her face and help eliminate the shadow under her chin. Hopefully you can get another opportunity to work with your model.

Hi ajax_andy, thank you very much for your feed back. Yes I did use flash, This was just one of those random photos which I then decided to turn in B&W.

I will use the dodge tool as you advised.

Point to remember, thank you. Will consider that the next time.

Rather than trying to save this with post processing, I'd re-take it with the 50mm you have, open up the aperture and bump the ISO, and turn the popup flash off. The harsh shadow under the chin and the pinlights in the eyes kinda kill it for me.
