Special earrings

Hi I'm new on the forum and on flickr, it's nearly impossible to get critiques so I dare to post some of my personal favs here. I have a Canon 500D (the rebel) and I used these settings: iso400, f/8, 1/100 sec (to get used to the features, my new lomo fisheye II has got). I modified the color temperature in lightroom but nothing else (as I can remember).

I really like it.
I like the "half face" approach that you took, it keeps the attention on the earrings but you still get a feeling what they will look like on a little girl.
I might have used a wider aperture than f/8 to get a shallower DOF but that's a matter of taste.

And +1 to what MrJones mentioned about DoF. I would have had the leaves in the BG blurred out further.
