Default Girl in Wheat Field

Hi there, I just wanted your general opinion regarding composition, editing, and anything else you can think of that would be relevant to the discussion. Is the exposure on her face ok? Since I shot in RAW, I can tone it down in Lightroom, but this just seemed right at the time. Now I'm not so sure. I hate it when I second guess myself like that.

Thanks in advance for your helpful comments and suggestions.

EXIF:
Camera Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Lens: Canon 70-200mm f/4 L
Exposure 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture f/9.0
Focal Length 70 mm
ISO Speed 100

Strobist: Bare LP 160 camera right, setting Eastern Oregon sun behind camera and left. (And no, having the sun in this particular shot wasn't an option at the time).

I think there's a hot spot on the side of her face where the sun is hitting her.
Why did you crop at her knees? Was it intentionally?

I thought I had toned down that hot spot, but perhaps not enough. The crop is actually below her knees, and you can't see much of her below that anyway because of the wheat/grass/weeds down there.

I love the shot and look in her face, but I do think it looks a bit washed out to me, but then again, I always get hit with going to dark. Love the field shot - excellent choice on location.

I think she is a lovely little model and that the location has great potential. I would love to shoot in the wheat fields at sunset.

Observations to watch out for (look away now if you are not up for hhcc ):

Stripes - unfortunately they are very distracting and fight for attention with both your model and the scenery.
The dark area near the horizon (lake?) runs through her head. Having her crouch or sit would overcome this and take away the extra elements in the background that distract.
Re exposure - in LR hover over her face - to keep the exposure good it needs to be 90-95 max. I suspect her right cheek is close, but doesn't look blown. However, imo she looks too brightly lit - but this is just an opinion (apologies if this is teaching you to suck eggs).
She looks a little posed.

I like the pic, but I do think she is a little over exposed.

I'm also not keen on her arm going around the back of her, as it kind of looks odd when someone's limb just disappears like that.

The dress as already mentioned also clashes a bit with the scene.

I do really like the idea, and also the compostion though. I think its a good pic, but could have been great with a little change here and there

I have to agree, she's seems washed out and a tad overexposed. I saved the original and thought I would play with it (in Gimp) to see what could be done, and was surprised when I darkened the lows and midtones, adjusted contrast slightly, then slightly relightened the whole image, it almost wanted to strobe, with the horizontal dress and vertical wheat. I touched it with a tiny bit of enhance, but that wasn't necessary, if you wanted it to be softer, it did make her face pop more and really make the wheat stand out more, which may detract from her?
When I was done, the golds in her hair and the wheat were incredible. Just out of curiosity, was this before Sunset?
I have the same issue sometimes, I sometimes have to put the image aside and come back with a fresh eye later. Let me know when you see this and I'll delete the image, just posted to show what I thought the original scene looked like.
