Default Candid shot

This is the first time i have tried something like this so i would like to know what y'all think
i did shoot this in auto cause im not very good with the setting yet
main thing is what you think about the negative space and compositionDSC_0055

Nice and intimate. Looks a little underexposed but that is a good thing as you can bring out the subject in post to make him pop! The blue cast is from? But it can be removed in post as well. He must have been talking while you tripped the shutter. I would also crop out the blown out sky above his cap bill.

You need to post the exif data so that we can see it. It helps to give better critiques on things like shutter speed and DOF and exposure if we know what the camera settings were at the time of the photograph's making.

The blue can be fixed with a White Balance correction. What photo editing software are you using?

Ok, disregard the question in the PM then. There are tons of PS7 tutorials on youtube. And you can get some pretty good books. The one by Scott Kelby are the best. He has a beginner series that costs about 40 dollars for the three books. They will answer about 90 percent of your questions about the camera and getting good shots right out of the box. He also is a world renowned Photoshop guy. Look at his website: Scott Kelby
