This is from a recent shoot. I wanted to get some critic and suggestions on the overall image. Pose, lighting, etc.

Mark, what was your focal length here? I'm asking because I'm wondering if it was shot with a somewhat wider angle....adorable as it is, her legs seem elongated and her feet seem a tad larger than they should proportionately to her head.

That's what was bothering me about it. It was my 35-70mm- f2.8 at near the 35mm more than likely. I have a small studio in my house and I think that I do end up too wide on these shots. Could I have had her bring her legs back away from the camera?

I know your pain, LOL! When I work on location I have to use my (GASP!!!!) kit lens sometimes at a wider focal length, simply because I don't have room to shoot with my preferred lens (another GASP!!!! 50mm).

I think if she'd been more perpendicular to the camera, but her torso and head turned more towards you, you'd have been fine.

I only notice because I know the limits of working with a short focal length with portraits - I highly doubt her parents will notice and will love this. So, no worries. I'm just being nitpicky.

I wonder if it would have shot from a little higher angle would have helped as well. I like the angle of her body. Also I will have to make a point of backing as far as I can in the room and zoom out more. I just wernt back and looked at some of the other images and this girl has huge feet. Check this out.

Now the feet are behind her and are still big in proportion. Something else to put on the check list... oversized body parts. LOL

Mark, it's pure awesomeness and any parent would be pleased to have that image hanging in their house. Well done.

Oh my....she does have big feet, LOL! As EOBeav said, both pics are lovely (and like I said, I was just nitpicking).

They do look more out of proportion in the first than the second, though.

Susan- Yep, maybe an excuse for a larger studio space. I could knock a wall out and loose a bedroom!

EOBeav-Thanks for the kind words.
