I am assuming this is a chance photograph but it is too bad his hat shadowed his face. Cool subject for a portrait but I would have tried to get his full beard in the photo and had him turn or lift his hat a bit to let in some light.

Yes, if we could see his it would be quite a shot! As it is, it's just some fluff with a pipe sticking out of it. Not trying to be flip, but I hope you get the idea. When shooting a portrait the most important aspect of the face is a nice sharp focus on the eyes and we need to seem them. My 2 cents fwiw.

Thank you, i thought it was a great subject too, unfortunately i couldn't get to him since he was a homeless turkish old man who only spoke turkish, one second he was leaning on a wall, next moment he was like this, in front of me. Somewhere in between these two moments would've been the perfect time to capture him

Something like this? I lightened low tones quite a bit. It may be a little to dark yet, not sure, but I could go a little more. Alot of character in this one, hate to see it tossed away.

Ran it through a edit in CNX2. Put a color control point on his face and one on his beard on his right side. Brought down the highlights on his beard and lightened and warmed his face. What do you think?

Good work Spookie, but I think Jim has nailed it.

Now it's a great character portrait.
