Default Help with colour cast

Hi, Im sorry if this post is in the wrong place its kind of a critique but I mainly made this composition to test my printer! my problem is that I have an epson r1900, and I just want to print some pictures of my kids, but everything i do seems to print out with a grey/bluey green hue! my monitor is calibrated so im thinking its my printer, but have tried everything to no avail! so my question is do the images look bluey green to you? on my screen the skin tones look more red/orange but maybe my screen calibration is out, or maybe my processing is rubish and im doing something wrong there, im new to cs5! Oh.. for my screen I dont have a gadget, just used one of those online tools. thank you to anyone who gives their time to help me with this x

Emmylou, I also have a R1900 printer. Some things you need to check. If your printer and your editor both have color management enabled they are fighting each other. Disable the printer control of color management. Secondly, make sure that you have the right printer profile for the paper you are using chosen in your print dialog box it does make a big difference. Also, unless you are very experienced at reading prints I would stick with Epson papers. If your editor has an option to soft proof try to use it to get in the ballpark with your color rendition. Last but not least make sure that your color space (aRGB, sRGB, etc.) is consistent through out your workflow.

Also, you should probably post this in the post processing, printing forum

Jim

I am not familiar with your printer, but my also has photo correction that, as I recall, is separate from color management. This would sometimes mess up my colors. So in addition to Jim's suggestions, maybe turn off any auto correction your printer has, if any. Less likely, but also make sure your ink is both full and "fresh."
