Lighting is fantastic, use of a defocused background to isolate the subject is perfect, WB great, focus looks great!! Really this is a lovely portrait. Personally, the crop and negative space at the lower part of the image bugs me, but that is a personal taste thing. I think it is the defocused foreground that really has put off with this composition, but I'm not sure.
Nice image BTW is this the f1.4 or 1.8 - 85mm lens?

Another lovely one, Tony. My only nitpick is the dark shadow under the hedges going through her head, just looks a bit odd. She is SO cute.

thanx scott and susan for your great crits...
@scott: it's the 85/1.4 afd... not the latest afs... the more i use this lens, the more i like it... btw... i know some people doesn't really like foreground to be defocussed as much... makes it weird because the eye doesn't usually see the foreground like that... so something is off.. but personally i actually like a bit of foreground and background blurred... personally it adds a little depth.. i really appreciate your crit and i understand your view... thanx@susan: thanx again for the great crit... too bad i dont think there's any pp able to rectify a skewered head if it were you, would you shoot a little bit higher so there's all the lawn on her head or lower to get bushes on her head? bushes will be kind of a messy bokeh... grass will be plain bg, but the shooting height makes it look more normal snapshot... :P

It's definitely a keeper.
Did you use a ND filter of any kind of slow down your shutter? I have a tough time using a strobe and being able to use a fairly wide aperture.

Hi eobeav... thanx for the comment... i used an ND8 (3 stop ND) to lower the shutter speed as i prefer to work with a normal sync than FPsync... plus i was running low on camera batteries so i actually brought a radio trigger just in case i need to shut down my ttl...

Really lovely. I agree that you can improve it by moving her down a little (must be something to do with the brains expectations and gravity?) I do like the bokeh in the foreground too though
If you are going to print, then I would clone out the leaves in the foreground, and burn her right shoulder slightly (looking close to blown?) How does the black line look if you clone it out and bring the bushes down? Lovely shot
