Default My Daughter...

An uninteresting title to get your expectations low... but hopefuly the picture has impact...

I wish for honest feedback which i can't get from sys... but no matter how many times i read the hints on what to ask when asking for a critique, my mind goes blank when i actually tried to put one.. so i guess i'll be asking...

1) how would you improve this from a technique stand point... did i miss any or how would you do it differently..

2) is it visually pleasing to you? any distraction?

i think it's uncropped from original

Camera Nikon D7000
Exposure 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture f/1.4
Focal Length 85 mm
ISO Speed 100

I shot it with an 85 with ND8 on it so i can expose the background correctly... she's standing in shade, slightly speckled... she's underexposed maybe by 2-3 stops... and brought up to regular with an sb600 on white shoot thru umbrella... bubbles are actually behind the umbrella because i was hoping that some light from the umbrella to side/back lit them to get them more visible

Thanks
Tony

She is so cute! My only critique is that I don't particularly care for the crop...it cuts right through her legs. I would either crop in closer, or prefer to see all of her legs/feet in the shot.

Tony - I really love this! The light is pretty and her pose and expression are just perfect! The only thing that jumps out to me is the way her legs look - I wish I could see a bit more of them. I don't know how cropping out the little bit of her legs that's showing part of the tutu would look...might be worth a try?

ETA: LOL, Lisa and I were posting at the same time.

it does look more balanced this way, doesn't it... i was trying to save all of her tutu at the expense of her leg i guess... good catch.. thanx lisa and susan...

Tony I love this shot. The way she seems to be thinking about which bubble to pop is priceless. Love the cropped version best.
