Default Colour or black & white

I captured this little girl sitting on an office step in Montreal. I was really pleased with the picture and am wondering what format would best suit the picture. Colour or Black & White? I tend to lean more towards b&w. It makes the photograph timeless to me.

I like the b&w but it seems a little harsh. I'm new to photography so I don't know the right term for it.

the color is a bit harsh, so the b&w works better here

I think it's great!! The doors and decay in the concreate scream for the B&W version. Funny, I prefer color, but every once and a while an image says B&W and this is one of them for me.

I like it in black and white....I think the purple shoes in the color one are a little distracting
Awesome shot!

Great shot, but the version . . . I'm on the fence.
