I get that same look from my kids all the time... it looks like she's thinking "...really? Another picture?" haha. I love getting pictures of them when you can really see what they are thinking
I think this particular shot would have looked better composed as a landscape vs portrait. Also, if you lower your f stop you could have possibly avoided having to use the flash... it would also have made it easier to focus on her pretty face. her jacket for some reason is really distracting to me, but if it was not so in focus I don't think I would notice it as much. You could also up your ISO to help avoid using your flash. I do pretty much anything to avoid using mine, it really makes a big difference in picture quality. If you are shooting manual, keep messing with your different exposure combinations, you'd be surprised how quickly you will catch on to something that seems a little intimidating. If you're not shooting manual, give it a try, like I said you will probably catch on pretty quickly if you keep messing with it. Looks like you have a beautiful subject to practice you photography with. Have fun!

^^^ Id have to agree about the fleece. it is not the best outfit for the photo, however the composition is fine. I actually like that you used the flash, The lighting looks good, but you did over sharpen the photo. It looks way way way too over sharpened. Otherwise I like it

I agree with the others about the jacket. There is a white fleck on it which is the second thing I noticed when I saw this picture. The first thing I noticed was that it was too sharp, maybe more dof would soften it and help with both issues.

Thanks for the input...I think I did oversharpen it a bit, and a lower f stop would probably help blur her jacket and maybe help with it being such a distraction.
Thanks again for the critiques
