A busker is a street performer
I met these guys when I went on a solo photowalk through the city. London's a different city each day, I should take advantage of that more often.Anyway, back to the image: thank you, glad you like it! And yes, I was aiming for dynamism and I thought these guys made fantastic subjects as they were very energetic, dynamic, and really seemed to put their heart and soul into their music. Here's some more images with them if you'd like to have a look and tell me what you think: click click (Now I know I'll get beats for using facebook, but I don't really feel I have enough strong material to set up a portfolio yet - it'll do as "that place online where I can dump and share my photos"). Cheers again. Ronna |

I agree with Rentham. The only thing is there is nothing in the shot that suggests he's a busker - he could be yelling at his girlfriend for all I know
![]() The dof looks about right since he's side on and I like how you've framed the shot. So my only problem with this excellent portrait is the title - and that's certainly a nit-pick. Good work!

Thanks a lot!
And yes, that did cross my mind when uploading these (ended up liking close ups far more than the mid shots) though I also thought the title could provide the context and speculation Of course this doesn't work in an environment where you see the title before the image, but I always enjoy going to galleries and studying and trying to figure out the photo's context and narrative before peeking at the title

Its a great shot and capture! Only thing i'd change would be I think you have a touch too much of his chest area in, and the photo could be cropped from just above the top button, as this would balance the pic better. I think the eyes are a little too close to the top of the shot with this composition.
Its a really minor thing though and its probably not the type of shot you have time to take ages composing, and I only wrote it because its submitted in the critique section, as it really is a great shot

Yes indeed, it was one of these scenarios where the best you can do is test the settings and then click away and hope for the best. The guys were very energetic and going all over the place, needless to say they kept jumping in and out of my frame.
Thank you for all the positive comments, they're very encouraging ![]() Ronna |
