Hi guys after a critique for this candid shot.

In particular the PP. Does the conversion to B&W work? Also does the fact that the head on the right has been cropped at the top affect the picture?

A drink?

Exif:

Camera Nikon D3000
Exposure 0.067 sec (1/15)
Aperture f/3.5
Focal Length 18 mm
ISO Speed 400
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Exposure Program Aperture-priority AE
Metering Mode Center-weighted average
Flash No Flash

PP was done in LR3

Many thanks.

RD

Yes, the head may be cropped, but this still works for me. Love the first guys expression.
Well done!

I actually really like this one. It's a nice angle, and the B&W conversion is really well done!

I like the shot. Good perspective and lines, and the guy being slightly cropped actually adds to the sht's character in my opinion.

As far as the PP goes, it's a little heavy on the contrast. I lik high contrast conversions, don't get me wrong, but this one is a little too bold in parts. You could probably do with adding some fill, seeing as though you're working in LR3... this is one of those oh-so-rare situtions where the lines in the suspended ceiling actually benefit the shot

...the right side of the image is unbalanced in in terms of the lighting, and therefore harsh contrast vs the left side... the fill will help bring a little parity to it.
