Default Aperture control

Hi, I am not very much professional but still I have an opinion about this pic that is:

1-Aperture control at the right hand side is not good. and brightness is quite high is the overall image.

2-Object positioning is not as per required. its better to have it in portrait style.

If you could tone down the background exposure a little (especially around the left side) using an exposure layer and brushing back your subject I think would improve what I think is a pretty good shot. A portait crop using the thirds rule on his right eye might also be a good move.

Hmm - after looking at your images on your Flickr page I don't I should be giving you advice - some very nice work.

Thank you very much for your thoughts, much appreciated.

Could you tell me which aperture you think I should have used please? I did want it to be bright, the idea being that the background looked more like ice and less like sandy rock. But evidently I have overcooked it.

Same on the object positioning, I wanted the background, which is why I shot in landscape mode - I have much tighter crops for other pics.

Hi Bruce, I thought since her face hit the rule of thirds and was on a diagonal that it would work... If any one has an opinion on a better composition that includes the background I would be interested to hear.

Thanks - but I appreciate all comments and advice, I want to improve and I still have a long way to go!

Hi Ginger Pixie

I would go for a crop out from the left. Since the right white has some details, it is not giving a feel of too bright! I like the pose
