Default In Thought

This is one of my first portrait pictures i took with my new Canon 550d, My girlfriend was sitting on a park bench so i took the chance to snap some photo's of her not posing for a change. Do you think the angle the photo was shot at makes or breaks the picture?
I'm just starting out with photography.

Breaks it. It is what some photographers sneeringly call "fashion tilt". There's no good reason for it in this image. It screams "there's nothing interesting about this image so let me tilt my camera because that's dynamic".

It's like selective color. We've all done it. Get it out of your system and move on.
