Default Not the incredible Hulk

Maybe this should be in lighting techniques? Mods, please move if I've placed it in the wrong spot.

So I took my son outside to try some outdoor portraits, and I keep getting this terrible green color cast on his face. So I thought, duh, direct sunlight = bad. So we moved into the shade, and got the same thing, though not quite as bad. Long story short, we tried sun, shade, clouds, and 4 different times throughout the day - all ending with that same terrible green color cast. I'm thinking it's the grass acting as one big reflector, adding that color cast when it bounces back up?
So, any ideas on how to get rid of that? I've done adults in the grass and didn't have that color cast, but they also weren't six inches from the ground. So... maybe he's just so little and close to the grass it's just that much more noticeable? Or maybe add fill flash? Reflector? Or maybe I've just been staring at it for far too long! Any ideas on why, and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. It's driving me crazy!

you're worrying way too much about it. way too much.

WB...meh. As long as it's not neon orange through jacking the saturation through the roof, I don' worry about it.

Of the multitude of 'technical errors' people will pull you up on, it's one I personally don't care about... our eyes have a tendency to adjust to the slight colour casts as a baseline for the rest of the image. As long as it fits the overall tone, no worries. I'm sure some will click their tongue at that.

But yes, fill flash would be my own solution if i was stewing over a problem like this. price you pay for lush grass i guess.

barring the cut off hand, this is a great shot... it's nice to see a really wide, close up shot with a little distortion to it.. it really brings out the character in children I think...

Thanks so much for your input. I feel a little better about it. I think I'm going to put the whole set away for a few days and look at it again later. Then maybe I won't be so fixated on the green. And I'll definitely try a flash fill next time.
Strangely enough, the green cast is stronger in some programs than in others, depending on what program I'm using to view the photo. So I think that is probably making it seem that much worse to me. Thanks again!
