Default Texas girl and her Texas bump.

I would really like to know what other people's opinion of this photo is...it wasn't my favorite from the shoot but it was the client's favorite. So it kind of made me wonder, the picture was taken back in January and we were freezing our butts off! Well for Texas we were freezing!

We do require you to add the EXIF in the critique section.

Quick overall thought... it's very blue. Any reason for that?

The composition and framing is awkward for me to look at. Unequal headroom vs the room on the bottom of the frame... might want to either have them the same, or less room at the bottom (boring grass) and more at the top (sky is always pretty).

That sapling is a distraction, also.

It's hard to tell what a going to relate to a given client. Usually it is something about the way they look, the expression on their face or even what they were thinking at that moment when you took the shot. They are personally invested in the images just like you are because you both were there. The only way to know is to ask her.

On the other hand, the reason for being as skilled of a photographer as possible in my opinion is two fold. First, even though a customer sometimes can't explain why, it is your skill shown in the image that makes it appealing. Secondly, anyone they show the image to is not personally invested which means they are veiwing the image more like we are on this site, with a critical eye. They are potentially your next client.

The goal should be to reach a point where you are only showing what you consider your best work. We all strive to make every image a winner, but it is through a lot of experience that we acheive it.
