Hi folks!
Ok, I did a shoot with this young lady who was possibly the most difficult shoot I've ever done. She was very very picky.. wanted to see every single shot in the viewfinder..after 2 mins I shut that down. Anyway.. What I'm looking for is your opinion on whether these three images work as a set. There is one thing in particular thing that bothers me about these three together, but I'll keep it to myself to see if anyone also feels the same (I assume some will). So, does it work this way? Why? Why not? Hard for you to say what you'd have done differently without seeing all other images, but still? EDIT: As Nicole mentioned below, I wasn't very clear. What I meant is how to these three images work as the one image below? Client wanted a single sheet with multiple shots on it. I hope that clears it up - thanks Nic! Off to bed.. will see all the red ink in the morning ![]() ![]() You can see the full-sized one HERE EXIF: (not that it really matters for what i'm asking) All were shot at 1/125th at 7.1 at varying focal distances. ISO 125. Single hotshoe flash (430ex) camera left 45degree angle. 5d with Canon 24-70L.

What i meant is if these three specific images work together as one image as shown here. Thanks Nicole for catching me out on that! She wanted a sort of collage... |

She has a different outfit on in each shot. Why are they all the same color?

I'm not getting any specific narrative or flow from it. The shoes being on in the middle frame sort of strike me as a continuity error. But then again, there's nothing that says this set is or has to be chronological. Overall, I really like the images, especially the tones in the first two. Nice job.
Finally, is anyone else seeing the weird face growing out of her chest in the second frame shadow? Now you can't unsee it! |

Why same color? Good question.. I wanted uniformity and nothing clashing. I wanted the eye drawn to the different images/posures/poses, not to contrasting/differing colors. They're being presented (and probably printed) as one, so that's why.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
I think that the image (s) are unified by the fact that it is the same woman in the same outfit with the same basic lighting. I think that the image (s) are contrasting because they each have a different feel. The first is fun and playful. The second is serious and moody (love the super cool shadow btw). The third is very soft and feminine. So I feel like if you were going for contrasting images with some unity, you achieved this. But if you were looking for total unity, then no, it doesn't really work. Probably not very helpful, I suppose. Just my best observation. Sorry, I didn't see your response above as I was in the middle of typing this. You kind of said what I just said. |

Thanks for the kind words overall and damn you for making me see the shadow face! Grrrr hahaa now I can't unsee it! ![]() And you know what, never even noticed the shoes. That's the problem with being so involved in your shots, you do miss some obvious things! |

Other than that, I really like the concept! I'm a sucker for collages is there another shot you could put in there?Amateur photographer here, so if nothing I said makes any sense, please feel free to slap me in the forehead :P just putting in my two cents. You all have been so good at critiquing my photos, I wanted to give back
