Default Black and White

I've been working on my black and white conversion. Does it look a bit too gray?

Actually, it has a blue tint to me (on this monitor which isn't calibrated).

Seems to have a pretty good balance between true whites and true blacks.. but the blue really jumped out at me (not in a good way).

My monitor isn't calibrated (using a mac) and I don't see the blue that Al sees.......but this is important for you to figure out how this will translate to a printer.

In my monitor, I do see the whites, blacks and grays and I guess you've converted it well enough. But in my opinion, I don't think the issue is the conversion. It's the actual shot. That water burst is very, very distracting and it's really taking away from the sweet image of the couple. I mean when you look at it long enough, my mind starts thinking that she was sitting too hard on him that he's started to pee.

Ok, that's a bit too graphic and mental on my part But I'm just trying to show you that this sweet photo can be translated as humorous and I don't know if you meant that to happen.

It's a good photo, really, and I have to say that. It does make me think what it is they are looking at and smiling. I love how relaxed and sweet they are. It's just really tough that the water feature has really taken away from that image.

I think you should try cropping this a lot tighter, almost cutting everything above her head. This may subdue the effect of that water.....

Ahhh I am sorry but I agree 100% with graciouness re the fountain. Such a shame as their connection looks so sweet, but the background is so important.

Also your eye is normally drawn to the lightest part of the image so here your folks get a little lost.

Sorry to be so gloomy

OMG, that was too effing funny! I swear I never even saw the fountain as a pee burst. Yes, I will definitely crop tighter.
