Look forward to hearing your comments x

What camera mode were you in? The subject is underexposed at least a stop, maybe two. Next time ask her to brush her hair back behind her ear on camera side. The background is beautiful, it's just a shame that the subject is not brighter.

And what ratio did you crop it? Or did you just use a random crop?

Hi I was practicing in fully manual but thinking maybe I should stick to aperture/shutter priority for kids! Could I lighten her up a bit? I have cs5extended, but not a clue how to use it! I used a custom crop because it was part of a series with one long one on top and 3 underneath.

Manual is fine.

Just expose for the subject instead of trying to achieve a good all around exposure.

To me this looks like a lovely soft focus shot and I like the crop. The subject may be underexposed a little, but I think that works to your advantage in this shot. Very nice!

Hi,
I agree with Bruce. I think the slight under-exposure 'creates' rather than detracts. Really nice!

I agree with the above posters. This photo is nicely underexposed. I do wish there was a bit more color, maybe in the background. I also like how her hair falls and nicely frames her face. Play around in photo shop a bit, you have something nice to work with here.
