Default My First Wedding Shoot - do the final proofs cut it?

Hi,

I've recently done my first wedding soot, and days before the Bride and Groom get back from Honeymoon, I've sneaked a couple of pics onto Flickr for you to critique.
If I need to change anything, this is my last chance.
Obviously, I can't go back and reshoot, but let me know if you think they are ok!?

Neil

read the critique forum rules...
anyway, I think you've got some decent photos there, I think you took the vignetting too far in most of the photos.
btw, it has the feeling of an episode of Alice in wonderland more than the feeling of a wedding

Understand the vignetting comment, but, wanted to keep them all in the same style.

Confused by the 'rEad the Critique rules' comment though? I re-read them.
One image, or a link to your collection. And prepare to be critiqued. All seems fine, critique away, please; it's why I'm here, to learn.

sorry.. thought you can ask on one photo.. didn't see that "link to collection" remark.
anyway, you'll get a better critique if you'll ask about one photo since you can't really give a fair critique to every photo on the set.
but that's a decision for you to make.

I cannot critique on any of the technical aspects as I am a newbie , but the eye appeal is just not there for me. There are no close ups of the bride and groom which is what the day is all about, a lot of slant and black and whites which don't personally appeal to me. I don't feel the emotion of a couple getting married, sorry.

Hi Lori,
These are 5 of the 200 Bride and Groom pics.
As I said above, I have only posted 5 as a basis for some guidance. The Bride and Groom haven't seen them yet, which is why I haven't posted more, and more intimate ones.

Since there were quite a few to go through, I'll give a general critique of the set. The tilts aren't working for me - there's really no purpose to them. In a lot of the BW conversions, the blacks are clipped and the whites are blown. There are a few composition issues (odd crops and such), and the focus is off in several. Exposure is kind of all over the place, too. The color is off in a few also.

I do have to say I did like the flower shots and one of the shoe shots - those were really pretty.

Where are the photos of the actual ceremony? If I was the bridge and groom, I'd be pissed.
Like the rest......don't shoot tilted photos.....that was a style back them, for those who don't know how to properly use the lens correctly.

Jim and co.

There are 5 pics on there of the B&G, as I've mentioned, they haven't seen the pics yet, so I haven't published them!

There are 6 tilts out of 60. when I had the Prime, and no time to step back, lol.

PS - It wasn't a church ceremony, it was a civil ceremony, and no pics allowed during it.
