I like this shot. When it is your kid you tend to be less critical, instead of more critical. If this were my daughter, I'd buy prints.
4x6 or 5x7? Does it really matter at that point? They're both pretty small. Go with the larger size. Hell, go 11x14 or something. I like the crop and composition. Nice job all around. |

Absolutely print it. It's adorable - great exposure, lovely tones, beautiful light, nice composition. Your neighbor will be thrilled!

It's a great shot! I love the expression and as a parent of 3 and grandparent of one I would be thrilled to have someone give me a pic like this. I agree bigger 8x10 or 11x14. It will be on the wall in their home for sure!

Adorable! I like everything about it. I'd go big if you have the resolution. Just remember when you print to leave a bit of space all the way around to compensate for what the frame or matt will cover. That get's me every time.

thanx all for your kind comments...
rentham and phil24, i know they are quite small... but the place i live in, you can easily get an 4x6 or 5x7 frame easily in any mall... but if you go larger than that, then you'll have to custom framed it... i'm leaning more on the cautious side and doesn't want them to have to go through the trouble to get a custom frame etc unless they want to do it... and if they want it bigger, they could tell me and i had a friend who is in the custom frame business... karens, thank you for reminding me about the frame edges... that always got me too... i actually thought to crop it tighter but didn't... the above is just a crop on the left and right hand side... original shot is totalling 16mp if i believe marketting because i haven't really looked closely at the image size in photoshop... btw a bit off topic...any idea how big a 16mp camera can be decently printed at? i know photo paper requires around 300dpi... but have no idea what's the optimal dpi for canvas printing? is it 100 dpi on canvas? |

Yep, it's good enough alright. They should be very happy with the photograph. Those eyes!
Good work.
