Default "Inspired"--SO new to this, please help! :)

90/365 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Hey guys, I'm SOOOO new to this--to photography, to DPS forums, to all of it! I'll do my best to stay in the rules, please let me know if I'm doing this wrong.

I started a 365 project 90 days ago to try to learn how to use my camera and take better pictures, etc. My dad went to Brooks Institute long ago, and I've always been inspired by him and others, and I want to learn to take beautiful photos myself. My camera isn't the best (Canon Powershot SD780 IS) but I'm working with what I've got!

Any suggestions, critiques, comments, ANYTHING would be very much appreciated!!! Thanks so much!

I usually don't click out to links, but I"m glad I did.

I appreciate the composition, as I'm a fan of strong negative space. One thing with the crop, the eye in the very lower right, I thin kit needs to go. I know it's tough as keeping in the mouth is a good idea, but play with the crop and see what you can manage.

Overall, the pink hues work well, and the pop high contrast high saturation suits the look.

Nice job... hopefully you'll stick around, and if you share again, look over the critique guidelines.. it'll explain about including the Exif and also how to link the image into the post... i'm sure there are others like me who skip over links to flickr.

Hehe, you made me look and now I see why you were glad to look.

You are so right about the strong negative space, that's really well done and a positive indication to the photographer that she has something

Dear OP, great job for a beginner. What a sexy shot without being tacky at all. So well done and it's a great creative vision you have - something that you don't find a lot around. I do wish I could see a little bit more of her face (not a lot, but just a little bit more) as it would be a little bit more titillating, I think. I'm a girl, though, so I don't know if the men would feel the same.

Now just let her hold a bottle of Gucci perfume, snap while she is spraying it on herself at exactly that pose, do a gold-ish hue on the overall tone, and you've got yourself an ad. Keep at it!

Also a fan of negative space (and girls in lingerie)

So it's a no brainer that I like this photo. I would maybe get rid of the gold fabric in the background. But I'm hard pressed to find any real critique.

Thanks for the pointers, guys! Sorry about not following the rules quite right; I'll definitely make sure to correct that next time. I definitely agree about the gold fabric but I'm afraid if I try to clone it out the light in the bottom right corner might look bad (I'm not fantastic at cloning). But I'll definitely give it a try. I also am really glad you guys like the negative space--I was a fan of it as well, but my boyfriend thought I should crop out most of the wall space. I think I'll keep it as it is.

One question I have about the EXIF data--I don't have an SLR camera, it's just a point-and-shoot....how do I obtain that data from my little camera?

Again, thank you all SO MUCH for all your help!!

Eh, his focus is elsewhere... Keep the negative space. And I must say you inherited the artistic gene from your Dad. You have a seriously strong eye for color management and composition. Nice to have you here. Jim
