Nice attempt, a couple of pointers though:-

1) The background here is very heavy and overpowers the subject
2) Avoid cutting off for example this shot seems to have lost your daughters feet
3) You could try a portrait format here instead of a landscape one this will also enable you to take a full profile shot
4) Try using a wider aperture this will throw the background out of focus...

I agree that there is way too much background, and not enough daughter. For a portrait shot you want the person to be the dominant image. Right now it looks like a landscape shot with a person in it as opposed to a portrait shot.

Also agree that a wider aperture would have been nice to blur the background to reduce it as a distraction.
