The first things I saw was the massive flower, blown out diaper, wrinkled background, and then your daughter.

She is cute thou.

Loose the flower & the nappy. I find newborns look their nicest when they're photographed as simply as possible - especially when they're sleepy shots

aww, what a lil sweetheart! Congrats on the new addition hope you took lots of pixies, cause soon the lil one wont participate with you, with the poses you want as they become more alert...wish I had more time to photograph my now almost 2month old..

I think the shot would look cuter if the she didnt have a diper on I kno its risky, but babies just have such cute bums lols...and i kinda agree on the flower, kinda distructing

Thank you for your comments, we wanted to do no diaper, so scary though :P maybe I will get up the nerve to later. And yup the flower is a little on the enormous side, maybe I should take it easy on the props

+1 on the advice given so far. go to the baby aisle and buy some waterproof changing pads to put underneath of your blankets. I got a pack of 2 for $8 at Target, they are washable and reusable. They are the flat kind not the waterproof bed liners with fitted corners although those probably would work as well. You will have the pee-pee accidents and you will have to wash everything when you are done. But the results are always worth it!!!

I generally skip right by baby and newborn threads because, frankly, I find these photos boring as hell. If it's not your kid its like...meh. This one caught my attention, though. I like the flower and the overall color palette. The diaper isn't a deal breaker for me, but the photo would probably be stronger without it. Same with the wrinkles in the background. I could probably live with them more if they weren't growing out of her head.

I like it! Where I live, photos of oversized flowers are a must with little newborns. I would have left off the diaper too, Whats a little poo? Ha! She is beautiful! Congratulations!

Ah yes, I actually have that, don't know why I didn't think of putting that there though. Thanks for the ideas, I am sure I will be taking many many more pics so I will remember that for next time.
