Default focusing on my little one.....

Thanks for all of the help, guys. Please offer critique on crop/composition and focus. I hear others telling people that their pictures seem soft, but that is hard for me to see. So, please let me know what you think of the softness here and if you think it seems soft, how can you help me to see it better? Thanks!

I think you've got this photo spot on and I don't find it soft at all. Her face is quite defined and the background is blurry enough that it's not distracting.

Only one thing that I have noticed and can't get my eyes away from looking at - the reflection/pink highlight of her pink dress under her arm - it's very, very strong. I don't know if this is due to the sequince on her top enhancing the reflection and brightness on her arm, but it's too strong regardless.

Do you think you can actually soften this on photoshop so that it's not so bright? I think it's called masking or something (I don't know how you can do this on photoshop as I rarely ever use it), but perhaps someone else can advice you how to do this.

That is, if you have photoshop.

Other than that, it's such a lovely photo helped by having such a cutie model

Great shot! I have to say though, my eye wants to go for the white sky in the top left corner. I think a more interesting/less distracting POV would have been to angle out more and avoid the sky a bit. I think a little in there would be OK but like I said, my eye just wants to go there. Cute model!!

Thanks for the responses. I agree with both of you. I have noticed the sky issue before, but not the pink reflection...BUT, sure enough it is there...I will try to work on that in Photoshop.

Thanks again!
