Default My First Wedding - How can I add more 'pop'?

Hi,

These are my first ever wedding shots as 'official' photographer. I am reall keen to know what you think of the initial edits, style wise and processing wise.
Is there something else I can do to give them the edge?
Here is the initial set (No Bride and Groom ones yet - they haven't seen them)
Jo And Chris, My first Wedding shoot - a set on Flickr

getting ready

I like your set overall, but am not a fan of tilts, especially when it is a guy in a suit.

One thing that struck me - there is not one image in the set that suggests it is a wedding. Looks like a family lunch. I am not sure what other images you took that day.

I haven't uploaded the pics of the Bride and Groom yet. Wedding photo etiquette - it's nice to show the Bride before the world!

It wouldn't be great if I forgot to shoot them :O
I'd have to rename this My First and Last Wedding Shoot.

sorry dude - I missed that line. It wasnt just the bride and groom, it was there was no ring, flowers, bridesmaids, proud parents. hard to comment on a wedding when there is no wedding

We have seen some pretty weird stuff around here!

There are some pretty good photos in that set. I would be interested in seeing the actual wedding photos once you're able. I love your colour, it feels vibrant, but not overly so. How are you achieving this?

Thanks Danielle,

I've been using Lightroom, and increasing the black to add a bid more depth, then compensating with the fill light. Adding black makes the greens more vibrant.
the other thing that works is my 50mm 1.4. The colours I get off that are outstanding.

My wife says the pics all look a little grainy. Is that just her? Or am I doing something else?

Neah, not too grainy. It's a style and I like it. You have a nice mood happening with the photos and it's a nice change from the super bright wedding photos that you usually see.

Great work for your first time! I'm sure people are looking forward to seeing more.

I am not looking at the original size of the images, but I am not noticing any (or much if any) grain looking through the set stream. I really agree with graciousness - you have a nice mood going on in this set. So far from what I've seen, if I were the bride, I would be pleased.
