Default There's a dog in that photo?

ISO 200
1/250 @f/11
70mm

My question: Did you even notice the dog?

Any feedback is welcome, especially concerning the human since humans aren't my thing.

Hmmmm. I noticed the dog but not before I noticed the human model. Im no pro but here is what I see after looking at it.
The dark areas of the pooch is set against the models dark outfit. The white in the background blends in with the white on the dog. Plus the model is much larger than the dog.
Just my observation. I like the pic though. Tough to get the animals to stay put no???

actually my eyes went straight to it... usually they go straight to the girl LOL
as for critique, I think technically it's good but I don't really like the pose. she doesn't seem comfortable.

and Johnny.. just an thought here.. aren't humans suppose to be larger than dogs??

In some cases the dog is larger than the human. Some dogs are HUUUGE!!! Some models are small children. Again I'm no pro. Was just my observation. My eyes hit the model first.

My eyes naturally gravitate to the lightest part of a scene which in this case is the girl and her blond hair againt a white background. Maybe a darker background would be better. I'm no expert but the focus needs to be more on the pooch. Its still a nice portrait though.

My eye went straight to the dog, but that's not saying he stands out, I was just looking for him because of your topic title. I don't like the dark dog on the dark suit/dress behind the dark parts of the dog. It just doesn't pop. Her necklace was a little disconcerting, too. The pose and such I think is fine. The pup complied well!

My only criticism is the dark dress diminishing the detail of the dog a little - otherwise I think it's a great shot.

If the subject is the dog then you should do away with the girl as my eye keeps getting drawn to her.

I saw the model first, then the dog. A lighter dress would work. Maybe a darker background.

Noticed the dog first, but that may be because it looks like my SPOILED ROTTEN boston. I agree that a lighter color dress would work better.
