What a lil cutie! I'm not pro or anything, but I just think the eyes need to be brighter, the sparkle in the eyes would of made this shot so much better! Maybe some post processing could fix it

Welcome Johnny, and congratulations on that cute little baby girl of yours. I think the photo needs a little tweaking to make it pop a little. It's mostly correctable in post editing. It's a little underexposed so you can bring up the levels some. The eyes are a little dull...a little dodging will bring up those highlights and catchlights. You also can dodge the eye whites some while you're at it. Optionally, you can do a little light skin smoothing if you'd like. The background, although soft, is a little busy..so be a little more conscious of that in the future. Some may have a problem with both the forehead and chin cropped, but I don't mind tight shots like yours...and she's a real cutie pie

Here's a quick edit example of applying some of the things I mentioned above

Thanks for the input so far. Now that I look at it more, you both have made great suggestions. She has wicked blue eyes that aren't noticable in the shot. I will attempt some PS. I have 4.0 and haven't a clue how to use it as i'm still trying to figure out this camera lol. Yes, I did notice the background was on the busy side. The photo was taken in a shopping mall... There was a kids play going on during the March break so it was a bit congested.
I will post editing later.
Thanks again :-)

that can be backed down a little and be done more carefully. Remember, this was about a one minute quick edit

PS: actually what also can be a factor is what kind of screen you're looking at it on. Flat screens and laptops tend to be very bright, especially if not calibrated. It doesn't look too overexposed on my calibrated CRT monitor.
