Hi all
I have never tried this technique before, but I attended a reenactment of a female Civil War spy and afterwards asked if I could take a photo. It screamed for a period look. I think I am on the right path, but it still needs more. Any comments or help is greatly appreciated.

I'd like to see it aged more..maybe a texture layer over it, or photoshop's aged action layer

Love your second edit. You could also add some distressing?
Looking at it makes me think of ghosts. I don't know the technique (sorry) but could / would you want to make your lady faded vrs the background? Just a thought for an alternative image.

Not a bad idea for alternate. She is a volunteer at Fords Theatre and has the Mrs. Lincoln look. Thanks all for the input.

Hi All
Thanks for the feedback, it has helped alot. I am wondering if anyone has an idea about "distressed" edges for this type of period piece. Sort of frayed aged look of a oiece of photo paper 150 years old.
