I would like to know what you think about the composition of this photo and if the proportions work.
I have a canon 1000D and I took this photo in Aperture mode. f/4.5, 1/125s, ISO 200, 18 mm, with partial metering and no flash. Merci! |

I think the composition is what harms the effectiveness of this shot. I really need to see the girls face more and get some expression to be drawn into the event that's taking place.
The boy standing off in the background is a little distracting. I know you don't always have control over that kinda stuff, but thought I'd mention it. The angle that this shot was taken at is too basic. Basically, you were standing over her and that's where 99% of people would have taken this photo from. I think you needed to get down closer to her level and shoot at an angle to get the face in the shot better. The colors are good, but the ball takes up too much of the frame and is out of focus...so even though it's the subject, it's distracting. Hope that helps. |

Hi Kevin,
Yes that helps a lot, thank you. I thought the ball was too big in the photo...! ha! I take on board the changing of perspective advice which is something that I am conscious of not doing enough or that I am trying to do but not successfully. Thanks again, will work on that! |
