Default Rat Rod Rocker

Had a shoot this past Tuesday and thought this shot came out ok.

What does everyoen think of the lighting and color tone of the skin?

Is the overall color of the pic good and rich?

Anything else you may want to suggest?

Thanks again for your time...

It's quite a good photo, particularly your "strobism" with the lighting (considering you used only one light+ambient).
I like the gruny feel of the PP, fits in with the theme.
Naturally, hot girl, so that's good. Skin tone looks ok to me on this monitor (not calibrated)

There are a couple small things that, for me, take a way from the image and in the end, they're stylistic choices more than anything else.
- I don't like that her feet are cut off where they are, and the crop of the image as a whole feels a bit tight.
- And overall the image feels a bit posey and cliche to me. Just feels forced to me, and not very natural which, in the end, takes away from the overall feel of the image since I'm not buying her as a rocker chick. To me it feels like you said "here Hot Chick, hold this guitar, stand in front of this cool car and act like a rocker"..

All in it's still a good image, just feels a bit "off" spiritually to me.

I like the lighting, but the skin looks very orange to me (like she's got an overdone fake tan). Not sure if that was done in post or if it's a WB issue?

Wish her feet hadn't been chopped off, either.

Cool pic otherwise.

+1 on all the above, she also looks quite unnaturally orange to me.

What really bugs me is that the inside pocket of her cut-off jean shorts is showing. Not a very good look and it's very, very distracting. You will really need to pay attention to clothes if you are shooting posed sexy shots like this one.

Not too hot on the pose, either....she looks uncomfortable or uncertain. I would think that a, she doesn't know how to play the guitar and it really shows, or b, she hates her photos being taken (which I doubt since she's not afraid to show some skin on this hehe).

There's some very strong halos going on on her outlines, esp on her legs - I don't know if that is chromatic aberration or over-processing, but it is quite noticeable.

Have to agree with all of the above about the cut off feet. It's real easy for things like this to happen...you're so intent on getting the shot, you're not seeing everything before you press the shutter. Only after, while looking at the shot you go, "Oh sh*t, I cut off the feet." As far as asking questions about color or skin tones, you may just as well be asking a blind person to describe what red looks like. Monitors, flat screens, and laptops can be setup (or not setup) and can be adjusted so differently that it's rare to have people all in agreement. The short of it is what I'm seeing on my screen is not what you are seeing on yours.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Yeah the feet...I had to straighted the shot a bit and it chopped them a little more than I liked.

As for the orange look...hahaha..I swear I actively try not to make the shots look orange on my screen she doesn't look orange really just kind of tan..I have even showed other people...so maybe it's a monitor issue.

As for the pose...hmmm...I see where people are coming from...but in my oponion...it doesn't bother me so much..but I can see the validity of what others are saying. Thanks again for all the input guys.

Only thing I'll add to the above comments is that it's a dark-feeling image, which isn't helped by how much of the environment is in focus. With your exposure at 1/100th, you probably could have slowed down the shutter speed to let more ambient in...

The crop is a bit tight for me, again, if you're going to make a feature of the background, light it better and show more of it, or throw if out of focus and don't make the model compete with it.

The angle at which you approached this is also a bit vanilla. It's a dynamic concept, hawt girl, guitar, hot rod, garage... get a little closer and lower, or closer and higher.. the straight-on-standing-shot just doesn't do the drama justice.
