First time use 50mm 1.7 on APC

Here´is my first shot with very narrow DOF 50mm lens. I´ve choosed b/w to draw attention on the expression. What do you think on the proportions? Close enough or too close? Thanks for any feedback

Not too close, in my book. I would, though, like to see either all or none of the ear.

And, maybe a smaller aperture would've given enough DOF to have both eyes in sharp focus? It seems to me that you had enough shutter speed to sacrifice in order to get a wider DOF.

Lend me a ear - no, joking. Thanks for the hints. The new lens is pure fun - although its very hard to set DOF. Focus setting is quite challenging.
