This is beautiful, nuralt. Beautiful child, beautiful portrait. I like the soft treatment and the expression.. you really wonder what is going on in her mind.

The composition is a bit loose for my taste.. why is her left side cut out of the frame when there is s much room to the right?

On my monitor, camera right side of her face is a bit bright, but I think the shadows on the left would be too dark if you adjusted.. so I am ok with the exposure.

Thank you for sharing!

I like the shot. I really like the warm tones, and (with the caveat I havent looked at the larger version) you seem to have gotten the focus right enough to work (though it looks like the focus point fell on the chest of the sweater?), and have taken good advantage of the shallow DoF.

Framing, I take a back seat to no man in my love of negative space, especially in portraits, so the extreme composition, I like, having said that, this seems to be a little too much room on the right side, exacerbated by that big brown lump in the bottom right corner. I think if you cropped that out, you'd still get the composition you were looking for.

For the record, I dig the tight crop of the model, and don't mind at all the chopped head/hands.

There are hot spots on the shoulder on the sweater, but they're marginal, and don't really ruin anything.

All of the stuff in the right 50 percent of the photograph is taking away from the girl. I like the colors and tones in her face and the exposure is just about right. So to me just crop away the right half and you are golden. Jim

@Niresangwa @JFSanders Yes all of you are on the same mine. But I realy dont like direktly taken shots. I try to create some composition but I'm agree that is not successfully in this shot.

BTW this is just one from a couple of shoots in this series.

Thanks all of you guys.

I really like what you've got here. I love the composition; however, I agree the negative space on the right could be slight cropped off-but not too much. Negative space really adds perspectdive to pictures such as this one, and you defintely have that posibility here with this image. One other thing, I would have included just a bit more of her hands-but that's just me.

I'm in agreement with most of the folks here. Great shot! Trimming a little of the negative space wouldn't hurt, but there's something to be said for the one-third child, two-thirds emptiness quality that it's already got. I think it comes down to taste.

Thumbs up Love this

Love the warmth, expression, and the story this shot is telling. I actually love the negative space as well, I feel the expression wouldn't be as effective without the negative space to the right. Gives her an open minded setting. Only thing i would change is the distraction in the bottom right hand corner.

If you're going to go the negative space route, don't let something dark in contrast to the photo draw your eye away from the subject..

Great Shot though!!
