Thumbs up Smile

For the last couple of years i have been trying to get my sister to like getting her picture taken, and i have successful. Some days she hates it, then the next she wants a shoot done. We recently went to San Fransisco for Spring Break, and most the time i had to make her turn around or look at me to get a photo.By the way she has 8 crazy hats like this one. This photo was taken in China Town.(I love this textured wall) Please tell me what you think.

Hi CLR, Your sister is a cute young lady!

I am not sure about the selective coloring of the hat, it draws attention to it's self.. which means it is drawing attention away from your sister. But I have seen it done worse.. I just think with all of that color going on the whole shot would probably be better in color. (unless she makes and sells the hats.. than this could be good for future advertising..)

The exposure looks good, no loss of detail in highlights or shadows.

I think the composition is off a bit. The shot is about your sister, so fill the frame. Put her head up in the top right corner, put her shoulder on the right side of the frame and let me see her hands.. cropping a little lower than you are now.

Thank you for sharing your adventure!

I like the color image better. With that neutral wall behind her and even the splash of color in her top isn't all that distracting. I think if you tightened up on her (crop off the bottom to just under the hat tassles and off camera left leaving just a little wall to her shoulder) and brightened here eyes up a little that would pull you right to her face and you would have a real winner!

The third is definitely best. I would straighten it though, I don't like the feeling that she is leaning on a collapsing wall.

Also, your skin tones seem a little off to me. The whole image, in fact, seems a bit blue.
