I have a toddler who I take photos at every chance I get. Kids are the best subjects, especially our own, I think

What I do find when I look at all her photos is that the best photos are the ones when she is looking at me (the camera) and you can see her eyes. This is where we connect with people, and when others look at the photos and you look in their eyes, this is when we feel we are in touch most with the subject.

In saying this, this photo would have been better if he had been looking at your camera. You can call him to get him to look at you and when he does, then snap! You'll find that when you do this, too, he will smile (sometimes...hehe) because he is recognising the person that is closest to his heart.

Hope this helps...

You will probably receive more c&c by including an image instead of a link With that I'm not sure which one of the images in your stream you would like feedback on?

For a photographer your baby is at an age that really just kinda stinks 4-6 months of age is by far the most difficult shots yet for me. They are almost ready to setup but can't! They are now well beyond the infant wrap style shots! Just a tough shoot!

Try some different things like setting up shop by a big window using a reflector. When shooting drop down, belly on the ground and interact. By doing these two simple things your imges, in my opinion, will improve tremendously.

I like your towel prop, I used it with my daughter a few months ago. I was lying flat on my belly when taking this shot

Do you have off camera flash?

I figured the link was the reason for the low replies, next time Ill just post the photo.
I definately agree with you about the posing it was rather difficult luckily his mom was there to help out. I do have a off camera flash now, when I took this shot I didn't. Thanx for your input. Greatly appreciated.
