Lightbulb First toddler shot

This was my first time photographing a toddler. How did I do as far as composition?

Nikon D60
f/4.8
1/50 sec
ISO-100
@30mm
No Flash
3/21/11
P.P. PhotoShop B&W conversion

I really like this one but I don't know why I'm still not sure about it. Please be gentle...

Very cute lil' guy

Here's my CC on the shot as far as composition goes.
I would like to see more space to the right in the direction where he is looking instead of equal spacing on either side.

I also do not like that his fingers chop at the bottom of the image.

I had 2 things not related to composition...

It appears to me that your focus may have hit his shirt instead of his face? I could be totally off on this though since it is a small picture.

What did you use to convert your photo to b&w? I would suggest trying a little different technique that would give you fewer shades of grey to really make it pop out.
