Default What do you think of the composition & light

From Mar 21, 2011

So was wondering what you guys thought of the composition and lighting on this one....it was taken outside in full sunlight... Thanks for your thoughts and time!

I like the "fun" composition of this one. However, the harsh light and shadows are distracting. The girl in the tree looks good from the waist up but from there to the lower subject...not so much. I'm not one for gimmicky type shots but I really like this.

I like the setup but the shadows all over the girls distract from showing their beauty/

It was a very fun shoot...I'm just not very good (yet!) I am posting alot and reading the majority of the posts (new ones - daily) to learn. Also, been watching the tutorials and recently found fstoppers on youtube for PP. Hoping that some of the pics in this set can be saved or at least worth having. Thanks for the feedback.

BTW - would a bounce reflector have helped in situation like this? By bouncing more light onto the lower girl?

Hi there, the girl on the top is a little out of focus. My eyes aren't that great, so when I see something out of focus it's a little bit more obvious to me (which makes editing tricky as I tend to over sharpen sometimes due to this). Her being out of focus is a little more distracting than the exposure issue.

i like this shot and don't mind so much the shadows but if you could avoid it next time, it would look better. what i think can improve this is by having the girl in front stand on something to make her higher so their faces can be closer and can be cropped a bit closer.
attached a sample of how it would look like if the girl in front was higher.
