Question lighting and color

I took this photo of my friend in a church. I am not sure how to edit the shot to where she does not look so yellow. Plus she has a big shadow over her neck. Any suggestions with Adobe Photoshop?

Exif data
Camera Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS
Exposure 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture f/5.0
Focal Length 200 mm
Exposure Bias 0 EV
ISO Speed 400

Thank you,

Jennifer

I may be wrong because I am no expert, but it looks as if your WB is off and the shadow is because all the light is coming from above. A little fill light from below might have helped.

Almost certainly your WB was not adjusted for what I assume to be tungsten light. Depending on which version of Photoshop you're using a cooling filter (80 or 82) will help to adjust it, but unfortunately if you just have a jpeg as opposed to a RAW file, it's going to be iffy.

If you don't have a version of PS that has an obvious filter adjustment layer, you can use the colour balance sliders to cool it down, by shifting them towards blue & cyan.

You could of course, just go B&W.

My vote is for B&W and save the image. Saturation on that bad yellow light is horrible.
