I like the idea, but the crop is so tight it took me a moment to figure out the little girl was with a pregnant mama. Is this an in-camera crop, or did you crop it in post? I also find the OOF foreground a bit distracting.

Other than that, it's lovely. I love the emotion in her gaze and your BW conversion is nice.

hello,
Thank you for the comments.
I don't crop a lot (just very little to erase a mark at the bottom). I have shot with a 35 mm, close to the belly of the mother. I have tried to shoot with a larger wiew but it was too banal.
I had 3 elements in mind : the eyes, the hand and the belly. I focused on eyes in order to put priority on them and let the audiences to guess the rest...

to tell you the truth, until I read Susan's comment - I had no idea that her hand was resting on a belly.
but what bothers me most is the b&w conversion. try adding a lot of contrast to the photo and it will be a lot stronger.
plus, when posting a photo that little it looses from it's power, try posting a larger version (like the one on the site) and you'll see the difference.

Hello.
Thank you for your comments. here is a larger version of the picture :

For the contrast, I wanted to keep a sweet picture, just focused on the eyes. But I will try to reinforce the contrast to see the difference.

Thanks.

Think of your picture like someone is speaking to you about a subject and gave you no context clues. So you're totally lost.

Without knowing the title of this image, my brain sees the eyes of a child behind some blurry distracting object. You have to include more in the scene to give the viewer context clues as to what's going on.

Thanks.
You're the third one to say that, you're probably right
My effect is missed. I will try again.
