Default Humour and a cellphone shot!

In the shade of publicity

Hi everyone, here's something different I tried. An attempt at humour.

And yes, I didn't have a DSLR / SLR etc. w me when I came across this scene so this was shot on my cellphone. Therefore no EXIF etc. I hope the mods don't get cross

Why I'm posting this for critique is primarily to understand whether this composition works and how is it exposed...(its been processed in aperture).. And last but not least, does it make you laugh / smile / stare more??. I may just come across funny stuff like this again and who knows, the camera may be on my person that time..
Haven't tried a monochrome version yet, wonder if that'll be good as the image is gritty due to digital zoom as it is...suggestions on the same are welcome

Thanks in advance, and apologies if it offends you as being shot w a cellphone being posted for critique in this "school", but it does have the word "digital" in it too ! any other suggestions for future , more "serious" endeavours are appreciated. Thanks again.

Cheers,

I am a huge fan of humorous photography. Your image is a great example; I love the irony, Very well done.

I really like it! It made me laugh. I prefer the first shot. Feel like the sitting men get lost in the ad with the monochrome. Thanx for the laugh

I see it less as humor and more a sociological comment. The pervasiveness of european/american marketing/ideals in areas where it particularly doesn't "fit".
I photographed similar in China.

Much better in color and I rather like it.

It made me smile, with a wry grin at the irony. I also prefer the colour version.
This picture is proof that it's not the equipment that makes the photo. It's the vision of the photographer. Well done.

Your photo is very interesting and the fact that it was shot with a cell phone doesn't influence the overall quality at all (I agree with AnonKiwi on this).

I think I like the monochromatic version better, because of the pinkish square in the upper right.

Tfs.

"Pinkish square"?
You need to adjust your monitor (or something), it is definitely orange.
