Default contemplation

A shot of my son over the weekend. I was playing with my 50mm lens. Any tips on how to get eyes even sharper? The far eye is a bit soft. Any other tips would be great. Thanks.

Shooting with a small aperture (2.8, 3.6 or even 4) would increase DOF. To me the picture seems to be overexposed and at shutter speed 1/250 you could easily close the aperture 1 stop to help bring the exposure in and change the shutterspeed to 1/125 or even 1/60 and pick up another 1 or 2 stops on the aperture. I am sure others will have some better suggestions.

Actually, Dave, you are right on the money. Proper exposure would allow her 2 f-stops, and that would give her uniformly sharp eyes. AND, typically most lenses are sharper around F5.6 anyway.
