Hi guys,
This is for you guys, Captivated, Eyad, SK66, kirbinster.. thanx for all your inputs... i started a share your shots thread... and thought i'll bring one of 3 here for more in depth critiques... shot all the streets with a 24 in the end.. ![]() what do you think about this one? it is a bit busy but somehow i still feel like i like it... captures a bit of the hustle and bustle of the people praying... is it too busy or is that what street is? capturing all the essense.. #1 - praying at 4 face budha ![]() Camera Nikon D7000 Exposure 0.002 sec (1/500) Aperture f/2.0 Focal Length 24 mm ISO Speed 100 if anyone interested with the sys - Bangkok streets snaps (1 prime lens) |

Without Buddha in the image it kind of looses it's "connection".

BexJarratt, thank you for your view... i dont think you are wrong.. it's just that at that focal length, it seems that the dof is still pretty deep... but once you get close you'll start having crazy lovely bokeh... which is why i love it...

sk66, that's what i fear other than the busy background... so i took another photo of the budha to go with this as a context... the budha in question is inside that housing on the right and require quite a bit of angling to see it and the people who pray to it.... unless i shot from the people's back.. here's the accompanying shot of the budha.. ![]() does that make the original any different to view? or should you always go with a whole story in 1 photograph? |

Buddha needs to be in that first shot, sk66 is right. Having that accompanying shot doesn't help with the story. They just look like individual tourist photos. I can appreciate how difficult it would have been to take the photo as per your description, though, but perhaps the view of buddha with people's back turned away from you would have made a much more interesting photo.
Sorry I haven't got anything technical to say - I'm a beginner and can only comment what my eyes see
