Default Machete!

Taking some fun pictures for a friend, don't ask why we have a machete laying around.
She picked it up and went with it.

Machete

Backdrop lit by a flagged Opus M40. Having difficulties keeping it throwing enough light but not interfering with the subjects exposure.
Main light is an SB700 in SU4 mode, 1/8 power from camera upper left through an umbrella.
Silver reflector camera right.

Lighting triggered by on-camera flash @ 1/128th.

D7000
16-85mm @ 50mm
1/60
ISO 250
f/5.0

So what's your question as per the forum rules?
If you're just looking to share without asking for commentary, there's also a SYS (share your shot) section.
Cheers!

PS welcome to DPS!

Oops, excuse me...

How can I keep the background light from lighting the subject?
I moved her as far forward as I could, but then I'm frame and space limited...
The background light it fixed brightness so I can't turn that down...

Basically I setup the exposure JUST bright enough to blowout the background, then put in my subject and adjust the SB700 to light her enough...
Am I equipment or technique limited you think?

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but how big is the flag you are using, and what color is it?

I think I was married to her. I know I've seen that look before!

It is cardboard about 20x10". It blocks direct light from the Background flash onto the subject. I don't know how I could position it to block reflected light from the backdrop...

Thank you for the replies!
