Default Tilted Perspective... Do I need to level it?

Hi All,

Sometimes I lean towards shooting in angled view to give different perspective to the viewer.

In this shot I'm not sure should I leave it as is or should I level the horizon?

How is the composition looking?

ISO 200

This is such a severe tilt, I'm not sure you could level it without losing a good portion of the image. I used to be a tilter...not really a fan of them anymore.

If I fix it I'll lose good portion as you said.

Actually I was trying to aim the tilt towards the leading line of the tire track.

Dunno, thought of giving it something different.

I like it. I think if it had been straight it would be kinda boring. Maybe if you had the tracks directly coming out of the corner of the frame it would have been a good trail for your eyes to follow. But otherwise its cool.

I like it, but I'm a fan of tilt. I actually used to be one of those people who leveled every horizon and found that incredibly boring, unless in a strictly landscape frame (no people, man-made objects, animals, etc). The tilt works for me at this angle. I don't even mind that the tracks don't come directly from the corner. That might have seemed too predictable, and I'd prefer unpredictability in art. Photography is art to me.

I don't mind tilt as a means of adding interest but, IMHO this tilt is too severe. I personally feel the subject is interesting enough without it. That sait, would you be able to lessen the degree of tilt without losing the intent?

great work.
like others have said, it works with this photo which otherwise would have been boring.
it gives it a dynamic edge and I like it very much

I'm with those who think the tilt is too severe.

Ok, so we have 2 schools here...

My whole purpose is to get the people pushing the boat to be framed on both sides along with the boat.

So that's why they are cornered in the picture with the track marks leading to it.

I'll try and level it and post to show the difference.
